Welcome To The New ArqueoCostaRica!

The Online Journal of Costa Rican & Central American Archaeology!

ArqueoCostaRica was originally created by James Kielland, a professional photographer & author, and Michael J. Snarskis, Ph.D., on of the leading archaeologists in Costa Rica.

McGuinnessPublishing has re-launched ArqueoCostaRica after a long hiatus, as a service to scholars, students, and the general public interested in the subject of pre-Columbian (Prehispanic) Costa Rican & Central American history & archaeology.   Now edited by Michael J. Snarskis, Ph.D., Tim McGuinness, Ph.D. (Publisher), and others.

We are in the process of building the web's most complete source of information on the archaeology of Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, and Central America. The goal of this website is to further archaeological discovery and research by promoting interest and appreciation of the value of threatened archaeological sites to a general audience, while simultaneously serving as a definitive source of scientific data for archaeologists and other scholars with an interest in Costa Rica and Central America, and providing and educational resource for anyone interested in the subject.
